Oh no! Illegal shelving! orWhat they don't tell you is that these are small people in a house where everything has been reduced in size, thus that the ceilings are but seven feet high and the cabinets are at the right height.

As was stated before, you can do this yourself and ignore "code". It's easy. We did it.Obviously, the "code" was written by somebody who liked power but not efficiency in the kitchen.OTOH, inspectors have a lot of latitude and most know idiocy when they see it, and nice folks with a clue when they see them.Mark
