I'm making some progress

The kitchen is becoming the bane of my existence. While I love picking things out - it is certainly a little stressful. You want to make the right choice. The best decision for you and for your house. I have decided on the following so far:

Cabinets:

Counter (black granite):

Backsplash (still not sure about the grout color. Any ideas?):

Two of these for the other wall in the kitchen:

Lighting:

Door hardware:

Window treatments:

It's a mix of colors and textures. Oil rubbed bronze and polished nickel combined to make the kitchen more uniform with the house (which has all oil rubbed bronze lighting). At first I wanted to do all chrome in the kitchen, but recently realized that would just look odd. I still wanted the nickel hardware and faucet and I think it will look great once it's all together.

Picking out stuff IS stressful, but the stuff you've picked out looks beautiful! You can't go wrong with white cabinets, and I really like how you've combined the brown and the black so it all works.

I just had subway tile put in my bathroom and I wish I'd gone darker with the grout. I'm definitely switching to darker grout for the kitchen, otherwise the cool shape of the tile gets diminished subtle. I'd go with a dark gray or maybe a medium-dark brown in your kitchen, to tie in with the black and brown thing you have going on. Maybe.

I meant the shape of the tile gets diminished or is too subtle, not "diminished subtle" SHEESH!

I used "natural gray" grout on some white subway tile, and the gray subway tile in my bathroom. Love it.

I used white grout on some white subway tile on the first floor. Hate it.

Dark grout really accentuates lighter tile with the contrast. Without the contrast, it looks too blah.
