Dates are used for a reason . . .

Last week I scheduled an estimate with a flooring company for the work on the downstairs. This was on Wednesday May 20th. He asked what day the following week worked best: Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday. I asked if Friday worked. He said sure, took my information and hung up. I came home on Friday (the 22nd) to find two messages from him and his card in my door. Apparently, he thought I meant the 22nd and I thought he meant the 29th. I felt terrible. Thankfully, he's willing to come back.

Today's lesson: confirm the actual DATE not just the day.

  1. That stinks. Though I am intrigued by this "came home to two messages" concept. Does that mean you actually have a land line? And you use it as a contact number for your contractors? What use is that, when you are only in the same place as your landline when your contractors are asleep or at the bar... :)

  2. Jamie,

Ah, I see how this is confusing. They request a home number to be used that day to narrow the window of time the appt was set at.
