I can imagine being a contractor is hard. Coordinating with all types of moving parts and people can be a hassle. But, it's never an excuse to steal someones deposit and vanish.

Wasn't that AWFUL! I read Bunny's story yesterday when she posted it.
So, speaking of contractors...we've just bought our own DC rowhouse and follow your blog pretty closely. We're having some major water issues in the basement. Know any experts who can find the source? We're working with a structural engineer, but it is turning into quite the goosechase...
Anon,
Can you give more information? Where is the water? Do you know the source? I may have some ideas.

Thanks! We have water in the very front and the very back of the house. Coming in from the floor, not walls.
Well, I believe your problem is most likely from the drains outside the doorways. That happened to us once and we got a plumber to come and unclog the drains. Does that make sense?
