So, while we could put in a new sink vanity instead of the pedestal, you couldn't get to the toilet easily. Then, yesterday, I saw this:
Wow. Storage, a rounded base. It has everything I need. Except, it's $700, not including the faucet and the storage cabinets underneath. But, do you think I could make it? Using a half round console table and adding the marble top? Or, would that just end up being too much time and effort and cost the same in the end?

You could totally make that. It would be even easier with a vessel sink. My super-tight bathroom wouldn't accommodate regular vanities and I ended up re-purposing an old sewing table console. Works fine.
$700 WithOut the shelves?? Sheez!
I would def. buy it. While expensive, it will be very difficult to do right.
Corey, I tend to agree with you. It all seems like too much effort.
You could totally make it!!! (Ditto Sara).
And then you could say, "I made it"! And have lots of blog content.
They did it: http://www.theletteredcottage.net/2010/01/weatherizing-water-closet.html
I am about to redo our bathroom and space is an issue for me. I love your find, but not the price tag! I am planning to take a pedestal sink discarded by my daughter and either build a frame around it or find a suitable small cabinet and retrofit the sink in it.......
Found you by hitting "next blog". I'll be back.....
Make it! There are so many half round and round tables out there where you could add storage underneath and plop a sink on top. $700 is ridiculous!
You can make this very easily. But make it before you remove the pedestal you have now.
You could try to retrofit a console into your existing pedestal...might need some advice...
