Kitchen Resources

We went from this:

to this:

It may look snazzy, but where did all that stuff come from and who did the work?

Contractors:

Floors: DC Floors. These guys were great! I would absolutely use them again.

Gas line plumbing: Grayton Plumbing. They did good work, didn't mind my questions (or hovering), and were neat and tidy!

Kitchen demo: yours truly. Now that I've done it there is no way I would hire someone to do it for me.

Kitchen cabinets, tile, light plumbing and electrical: Tritsch contracting (e-mail Allen at: allentri@hotmail.com). I met Allen at IKEA while working through the kitchen planning process. They were professional, timely, and efficient. Oh, and pretty much a bargain. While your not going to get museum quality work, these guys are great, and they were really easy to work with.

The Stuff:

Cabinets: IKEA

Sink, faucet, garbage disposal and tile: Lowe's

Large china cabinets: IKEA

Wooden crates on shelf: World Market

Glass pedestal bowl: Crate and Barrel

Baskets above cabinets: Target

Cabinet Hardware: Restoration Hardware

Appliances: Sears (Kenmore)

Anything else you wanna know? Go ahead and ask.

Tomorrow? The budget breakdown. How much did this puppy cost? You'll find out. Brace yourself.

Thank God for Twitter. I'm such an idiot ... thought you fell off the planet when, in reality, you just fell off Google Reader. (it ate some of my subscriptions a while back. Go figure.)

FINALLY realized you were among the MIA.

D*MN that kitchen is awesome! I'm bracing myself for YOUR budget because mine isn't even done yet and my meager little budget is chokin' me already.

Can you tell me about the shelf? What kind of brackets are holding it up? Also, where did you get the light fixture? Thanks

Anon,

The light fixtures are from potterybarn (http://www.potterybarn.com/products/chase-pendant-60-kit/?pkey=ctrack-lighting-kits). We used corner braces and screwed them into the studs (under the tile). You can see a photo here:http://dcrowhouse.blogspot.com/2009/07/kitchen-day-26-continued-tile.html.

The new cabinet on the wall fits the kitchen since it has the same color as the tiles on the wall. The new refrigerator looked awesome especially because of its silver color.

Hi!
Your kitchen is beautiful and gets me excited to redo my own. Can you share your paint color? I just love it.
Thanks!
