Mother-nature decided to upgrade us

This is one situation you don't want an upgrade. Snow amount for tomorrow/Wednesday has been increased to 10-20". Really? Really!!! Was I bad?

Today I ventured out, walking a mile to the grocery store. It was nice to see all the people working to clean up the snow, but disheartening to see so many streets had not been touched by plows.

Oh, and I'm assuming the electric wires dipping in my yard and strewn across the deck railings will remain that way until. . . April.

I doubt that the wire in your backyard are electrical. If you are in the federal city portion of the city, and all of capitol hill is, your electrical wires are underground. Is your power out inside the house?

We have power. Maybe it's phone and cable then?

I think I remember this happening a few years ago and the electric company came and fixed it.

But, I'm not quite sure.

Yeah, it's likely to be phone/internet/cable. DC doesn't allow above ground electrical lines in the areas of original construction of the city.
